Deepfake Porn an Industry Operating in Plain Sight

Deepfakes, an emerging trend in AI-generated pornography, have become particularly disturbing. They use AI to replace one person’s face with another’s and often mimic their facial expressions.

It’s an unsavory twist on revenge porn, where non-consensual photos and videos are shared online. Not only celebrities are being used as bait for this form of deceptive exploitation, but everyone.

It’s a business

The deepfake AI porn industry is operating undercover, and the technology behind it is being utilized in various ways. For instance, some creators use this new AI capability to create videos featuring women without consent – a horrifying and disturbing application of this powerful new technology.

Deepfake pornography is nothing new, but with machine learning becoming more accessible and AI technology developing rapidly, its production has become more accessible. This issue is severe and could have life-altering repercussions for those affected.

One of the primary issues with these videos is that they often feature women’s faces in violent, pornographic scenes. Much like hanime xxx scenarios, where anything is possible, the same nature can be found in these visual creations. It can be an act of revenge porn and emotionally draining for victims to watch their images appear in a video they didn’t make.

Though this issue of fake AI porn is mainly concentrated online, it has also affected women in offline settings. Anita, a Twitch streamer who has been the target of some deepfake videos, told CNN it can be an incredibly surreal experience to see yourself featured in such pornographic media.

She notes that playing video games can be a source of trauma that requires thousands of dollars in therapy and legal action to resolve. Furthermore, there is often an underlying lack of empathy from other gamers.

She laments how some in the community have begun to “blame women” for such abuse

She points out that some online gamers haven’t taken enough time to understand that this is an issue women are dealing with daily.

Recent examples include an AI tool called Lensa that enables users to create pornographic images of themselves. Critics have accused this program of racial bias and other issues.

One such website is MrDeepFake, a mecca for deepfake porn. It boasts plenty of celebrity-themed content, like videos featuring actresses Emma Watson and Scarlett Johansson. As such, it serves as an outlet for deepfake creators to market themselves and showcase their works.

It’s a crime

The deepfake AI porn industry operates undercover, impacting people without their knowledge. The technology is so advanced that cyber criminals don’t require much source data to create an image or recording that incites feelings of fear, misunderstanding, or anger.

Many of these videos target women, who are typically the most susceptible to image-based sexual abuse. But technology is also being employed against children exploited by pedophiles.

MailOnline recently exposed how some perverts use artificial intelligence to generate graphic, realistic indecent images of children before sharing them online with other perverts. This has sparked calls for government action from child abuse charities and the FBI, prompting calls for an official response.

These AI-generated images of kids are causing distress to young victims who cannot defend themselves from attacks.

The videos aim to mimic reality, creating anxiety and panic that could lead to severe mental health issues

One victim reported to NBC News that due to the photos, she lost her job, experienced depression and anxiety, and attempted self-harm. Other individuals have changed their names or taken drastic measures like taking themselves offline from social media.

Due to the increasing volume of non-consensual AI-generated porn, some states have passed laws regulating its use. For example, California recently passed a law allowing people to sue if they are injured by an AI video. In addition, Virginia is considering passing legislation making it illegal to distribute altered images of someone to influence an election within 60 days after voting.

The legislation would allow victims of unauthorized furry and deepfake porn to prove that they were injured by the content, though establishing the cause can be challenging for them. Ultimately, suppose victims can demonstrate that the material was intentionally created to cause mental suffering. In that case, they may have grounds for bringing a lawsuit.

The problem of non-consensual AI-generated sexual activity is a stark reminder that there are legal gaps in the regulation of the tech sector. But with proper attention, these troubling gaps could be rectified.

It’s a weapon

The deepfake AI porn industry operates undercover, using readily accessible artificial intelligence (AI) technology to generate and distribute pornographic content. This industry threatens public trust in digital media by creating and distributing non-consensual material.

The deepfake industry can have devastating consequences for individuals of all ages, genders, and ethnicities. It creates and spreads non-consensual sexual content and acts as a tool for extortion or control over individuals. Furthermore, it fuels those responsible for sexual abuse or intimate partner violence, leading to reputational damage and other legal issues that require legal intervention.

Deepfakes have been used in various contexts, such as revenge porn and political messaging

However, there is also concern about their potential use in intimate partner violence situations – where they could extort and coerce victims into engaging in unwanted sexual activity.

Experts have been considering this problem for some time, which has recently spurred the UK government into passing a law that criminalizes creating fake images. But as with all new regulations, numerous questions remain about how best to tackle this problem and safeguard individual privacy.

Experts told NBC News that while UK law is an effective tool to combat fake videos, proving who created them can be tricky. “The only way to determine if someone is creating a deepfake is by testing their ability to create video footage that looks like it’s based on an actual face – which may prove challenging due to how much information about people they can use to produce something unrecognizable as real,” said Gary Broadfield, a cybercrime specialist at Barnfather Solicitors.

He emphasizes the need to work towards passing legislation that addresses the problem of deepfake content and its devastating effect on women, noting that while revenge porn is already an issue, using AI technology to produce fake videos that look real will quadruple the amount of abuse experienced.

It’s a problem

Deepfakes are an insidious type of AI-generated synthetic media. They comprise images, videos, and entire identities that have been doctored to appear authentic. They are often used to spread misinformation or disinformation, target political candidates, or manipulate social media channels.

These intrusive tools have existed for years, yet their reach has only grown. A recent Wired investigation revealed that deepfaked porn has raced millions of views on mainstream sites like Pornhub.

With technological advances, creating offensive images and videos has become easier than ever. For example, anyone with access to a computer can take a picture of their ex’s face and edit it into an explicit image or video.

The issue with AI-generated images is that they can be deeply distressing, especially for women. Such non-consensual depictions can harm a woman’s reputation, career prospects, mental health, relationships, and self-esteem.

These issues are compounded when those who use AI-generated porn videos to harass others do so without the victim’s knowledge or consent. Streamers, in particular, are especially vulnerable, as they may not know that the sites hosting these videos host these videos.

One Twitch streamer, Brandon “Atrioc” Ewing, was in an embarrassing predicament earlier this year. While live-streaming, he accidentally clicked on a website that allowed him to purchase and watch deepfake porn of his female colleagues. Later that night, CNN reported that the images he’d seen had become so distressing that it was causing him distress while sleeping.

The consequences of this abuse go far beyond just those who profit from it.

An increasing number of civilian victims – including gaming community members – are being targeted by deepfake creators.

As the AI industry matures, governments will find it increasingly challenging to regulate the content created by these tools. Therefore, lawmakers must safeguard individuals from potential harm caused by these technologies.

Congress must act now to combat the dangers of deepfake AI so that it doesn’t get out of hand and cause harm to people’s lives. To this end, the National Women’s Law Center is advocating for Congress to pass the Deepfakes Accountability Act; this bill would impose sanctions on creators of illegal AI-generated porn and provide legal recourse for victims.

The Adobe Intelligent Document Platform

The Adobe Intelligent Document Platform

The Adobe Intelligent Document Platform

A key component of any enterprise architecture The Adobe Intelligent Document Platform is designed to fit into existing technology
environments, so agencies may quickly and more easily integrate Adobe process management, collaboration, document security, and document
generation services into their current infrastructure. Adobe solutions are standards-based and extend the value of existing IT investments by
working with the legacy CRM, ERP, document management, and forms management systems. These integral components of a complete Adobe
government solution facilitate governmentwide process improvement. Because Adobe solutions are flexible and grow with you, they
can be implemented in manageable phases to quickly address your most pressing needs. The Adobe professional services team and
strategic partnerships with leading vendors in areas such as security, content management, and wireless communications can help you find the right approach based on your unique requirements.
Whatever your agency’s information workflow challenge, Adobe has the right tool and experience to deliver the right solution. With Adobe solutions, governments can deliver the availability, responsiveness, and efficiencies that constituents and employees demand.
About Adobe Systems Incorporated Adobe helps people and businesses communicate better through its world-leading digital imaging, design, and document technology platforms for consumers, creative professionals, and enterprises. Adobe’s revenue in the last fiscal year
exceeded $1 billion. For more information about Adobe, visit

Design and Deploy Forms

Design and Deploy Forms

Design and Deploy Forms

Eliminate costly paper processing while maintaining information integrity and increased security. Replacing thousands of existing paper-based
forms with easy-to-use online forms in PDF or HTML allows government agencies to more easily capture and process data from employees,
constituents, and other government agencies. Adobe form solutions deliver greater flexibility for agencies by providing full support for user-defined and industry-standard XML schemas, enabling
shorter form development time and easy integration with diverse enterprise applications. In addition, users gain a more positive experience by being able to download forms to their local computers to fill
in, comment on, digitally sign, and save copies for their records and then to reconnect to the Web to submit the form at their convenience.
The results are lower costs, faster integration of data within and across agencies, increased accuracy of data, and improved responsiveness to constituent requests for services. Automate Processes Maximize internal efficiencies and cost savings by integrating people and automating processes. Many critical government processes, such as routing forms for approval, involve data that is stored in one or more core business systems, and involve the interaction of people—agency staff and external constituents—who are not dedicated users of those systems.
With the Adobe Intelligent Document Platform, agencies use a rules- and roles-based approach to integrate people into automated workflows that support unique organizational policies and procedures. For example, payroll data provided by businesses can flow into government tax,
labor, and statistical systems. With Adobe solutions, governments can eliminate the bottlenecks and manual workarounds that prevent them from achieving their mission to serve people better.
Streamline Document Review Accelerate review cycles while protecting
document integrity. As documents are shared between departments and beyond the agency, paper-based document review and approval
processes become more difficult to manage. Adobe solutions address the need to protect the integrity of document content as it is processed by
tightly controlling access, yet ensure that content can be easily reviewed, commented on, approved, and archived.
Agencies can now provide their constituents with the ability to save documents locally, mark them up with intuitive commenting tools, and add digital signatures—all without requiring them to purchase any special software. The benefits of the Adobe solution include
reduction in review cycle times and enhanced information sharing.
Generate Customized Documents Gain self-service efficiency while retaining document diversity and compatibility. Agencies want to improve the quality and cost effectiveness of delivering constituent-facing documents by automating document generation processes. And they want a single solution to facilitate delivery of content from a variety of sources—all without limiting or compromising the rich variety of data
(such as text and graphics) in the source documents. Adobe solutions enable you to automatically extract information from enterprise and legacy systems and dynamically convert it into highquality, customized, personalized, and legally compliant documents for delivery through
print, e-mail, fax, or the Web. For example, an agency can generate a paper copy of a license for a constituent and an exact electronic copy for archiving from the same data and single PDF form. Everyone—constituent, agency staff, and supplier—gets the information they want in
the format that best meets their needs. “The Adobe solution is a
key element in enabling us to electronically
furnish constituents with everything they need in order to obtain a business licence, all in one place.” – Dennis Bird Director of business
information, Queensland Department of State Development

Empowering e-government today

Empowering e-government today Adobe solutions connect documents, people, and processes, enabling government agencies to increase constituent satisfaction while decreasing costs. Leveraging the best of today’s technology standards, the Adobe® Intelligent Document Platform lets you extend your legacy and core business systems
to easily and more securely interact with citizens, businesses, employees, and other agencies. Adobe solutions offer proven e-government success.
Around the globe, government organizations face similar process challenges: the need to capture accurate data from potentially millions of people every day; streamlining workflows that involve
people within and outside the agency; more effective and secure collaboration across agencies; and more efficient delivery of information to constituents. Adobe helps governments address these challenges
with proven solutions for intelligent forms processing and management, flexible collaboration, and dynamic document generation.
Helping people work together more productively and effectively
Government processes are driven by documents and forms, from citizen communications to requests for services and business compliance.
But automating these processes presents enormous challenges, including the ability to move information securely across network boundaries, to integrate with enterprise applications and legacy systems,
and to provide access to people with disabilities. The Adobe Intelligent Document Platform enables agencies to automate and streamline processes that involve both people and core enterprise applications exchanging and interacting with Intelligent Documents.Based on standard PDF and XML technologies, Intelligent Documents combine the familiarity, security, and visual fidelity of PDF with the business logic and
data exchange capabilities of XML. The platform also leverages universal clients— Adobe Reader® and Web browsers—to act as the
interface between people and Intelligent Documents. Because agencies must communicate with a very broad group of constituents, universal clients are critical to extending government processes with
no additional cost burden to users. Document services are the underlying sets of technologies that enable the creation of Intelligent
Documents and the integration of enterprise application data within them. Adobe Document Services include document generation, collaboration,
process management, and document control and security, and are designed to integrate with component-based enterprise architectures
that can be deployed across an organization. With the Adobe Intelligent Document Platform, agencies can more efficiently and effectively:
• Design and deploy constituent forms
• Automate processes not managed by core applications
• Streamline document review and approval to improve operational efficiencies
• Generate customized documents to speed
constituent response

Cyber-SIGN Inc.
Cyber-SIGN for Acrobat
Cyber-SIGN for Acrobat works with any Adobe PDF document. Once created, the user simply clicks the CyberSIGN icon and is prompted to sign the document. The signature becomes part of the document. For predefined forms, the signature location can be fixed; alternatively, users can select where they wish to sign the document. In workflow, multiple signatures may be added as required, and document changes are tracked, just as is often done on paper. In the event that a document is altered, a detail event log is maintained detailing change authorizations, signatory, date/time stamp, reason for change, etc.
Capture and Authenticate for Acrobat
Capture and Authenticate for Acrobat enable users to compare the changed document against the original to review changes made, by whom, for what reason, and the location of the signer when made.

Capture for Acrobat
Capture for Acrobat allows a handwritten signature to be included on any PDF file, utilizing the signature handling and management features that are built into Acrobat.

Authenticate for Acrobat
Authenticate for Acrobat utilizes these same features, additionally utilizing the biometric data in the dynamics of the signature to verify/authenticate the identity of the signer. The dynamic signature verification software examines changes in speed, style, pressure and timing that are unique to an individual. Fraud is essentially impossible – we never sign exactly the same way twice, and an identical copy of a signature is rejected as being false.
